Liverpool’s surprising Record in Premier League without Steven Gerrard
Liverpool might not feel the absence of their legend Steven Gerrard to the extent that everyone expected. The Reds have been impressive in Premier League despite the absence of their captain.
Steven Gerrard recently announced that he would leave to MLS based LA Galaxy at the end of the season. It will be an end of 17-year old career at Anfield for the former English captain. He has won 10 trophies for Liverpool including the famous 2005 UEFA Champions League triumph over AC Milan.
No one doubts the influence of Gerrard on games but Liverpool are doing very well despite Gerrard suffering injury. The Reds skipper has missed out 6 games in total during this season in Premier League and Liverpool were able to win in all 6 league fixtures.
The noticeable and influential performances coming from Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana stepping up when the team needed the most. The Reds managed to score 14 goals in those 6 games where as they managed only 28 in 22 other league games in which Gerrard played.
Liverpool’s manager Brendan Rodgers seems to have already figured out the formula to overcome Gerrard’s absence by putting more balanced unit on the field. Liverpool have been in terrific form recently with Rodgers changing formation to 3-4-3 and the Reds were not defeated in 2015 so far.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will look onto take on Blackburn Rovers this Sunday at Anfield in their quest to reach FA cup final and wi in it on May 30 which will also be last game for Gerrard on his birthday and a perfect way to bid farewell to their legend.
