Manchester United and Arsenal are facing tough competition from Liverpool to sign Fulham’s Moussa Dembele.

Liverpool right now are among many clubs who have been scouting the young French attacker. Manchester United and Arsenal are also in the race, but apparently there is a huge price tag of around £12million to start any kind of discussion.

According to Daily Mirror, Liverpool are leading the race to complete a deal this month.

If Jurgen Klopp succeeds to land the forward, it will eventually allow the 19-year-old’s Championship club Fulham to have their transfer embargo lifted high enough without off-loading further.

Christian Benteke hasn’t come close to living up to the expectations since his £32.5million arrival from Aston Villa. Injuries have always hampered his progress and since Jurgen Klopp took charge doubts over the Belgian international’s ability to fit the German tactician’s style have continued to increase with a run of blunt performances despite netting occasionally. Klopp prefers a tireless work rate from his strikers but Benteke has been too static. Roberto Firmino’s lack of consistency also a major concern for Liverpool while Klopp still cannot count on Daniel Sturridge because of his injury-prone nature.

Origi is still a raw talent but his potential is quite clear. The young Belgian striker’s willingness to close down any kind of space offered and stretch defenders has endeared him to the new Liverpool boss and fans alike. He now looks well placed to kick start in the second half of the season but this January Jurgen Klopp really needs some firepower in his attacking line.

Dembele has so far netted 10 goals in 25 appearances for the Londoners this term. He is a player who likes to go on powerful runs from midfield and is equally accomplished on the ball. Liverpool’s new boss is also looking for a physically tough midfield option and it seems Dembele would seamlessly fit in to the German’s tactical gameplay.

Last night’s shocking loss to West Ham has angered Klopp and now he desperately looking for someone who can deliver infront of the goal. Two stunning headers from Michail Antonio and Andy Carroll gave West Ham a 2-0 win over the Reds in the Premier League. Klopp, whose men stepped into the match having won their last two games, was not pleased at all with how his players performed.
