Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that his future at the club could be in danger after his side’s 3-1 defeat to Leicester City on Monday.
The Reds have once again lost to a small club as they continue their poor streak of results in 2017. They have now only won two of their last 12 games since the start of 2017, one of which came against Plymouth in a cup clash.
Leicester City who played their first game after the sacking of Claudio Ranieri have also managed to outfox Liverpool as the Reds have suffered yet another embarrassing loss against Leicester who are fighting relegation battle this season.
The result meant that Liverpool could once again miss on the top four finish which could impact Klopp’s men severely as they have arguably been the most consistent team in the first half of the season.
The German tactician has revealed that his future could be on line if the side doesn’t improve in the upcoming weeks.
“It’s getting more serious now,” he said.
“We all play for our future, myself included.
“We get judged every day, especially on match days. Of course performances have influence on these things.
“I feel maximum responsible because I am. I hope I use the word ‘we’ and not ‘they’ because I’m involved in this.”
Liverpool had got a two week gap after their last fixture to prepare for the game against Leicester at King Power stadium. The Reds flew to Spain to have a mid-season break anf training but have not looked better in the game against the Foxes on Monday.
Jurgen Klopp will have to turn the tables around quickly as the slump is severely impacting the players’ mindset as well as adding to the frustration of the fans who were left depressed with their results off late.
