Liverpool outcast and fan favorite given a life line by Klopp after 4 forgettable months

Liverpool has been a happening club this season with German manager Jurgen Klopp, entering his first full season as the manager of the English outfit.

Klopp made a number of additions to his squad in the summer that has got the fans excited but one player who has been throwing himself away from the first team was French international Mamadou Sakho.

One of the most important players for Liverpool in the previous season, Sakho, had a disastrous end to his previous season.

He was stuck up in a drug scandal that saw him miss the Europa League final with the club and the EURO16 final with the country, taking his career into a limbo.

Though his drug charge was later discharged, Sakho picked up an Achilles injury that delayed his return to the game.

Then followed his antics in the USA on Liverpool’s pre-season tour.

He was reportedly late for a team meeting, then a meal and then the flight, by which time Klopp was fed up and freezed him from the first team.

The manager asked the player to return back from the US and wanted him to move away from the club in the summer in search of regular football.

However, Sakho decided to stay at the club and fight for his place before his rant on snapchat telling Liverpool fans that they need to know what his happening with his career at the club.

The outburst on social media at 3:00 am in the night was touted as the last nail in the coffin of his Anfield career which looked all but over.

Klopp also revealed in an interview that he will take care of the whole saga when the time is right,  keeping Sakho’s future in the limbo.

However, the Liverpool supporters were give a pleasant surprise when it was revealed yesterday that the French international was a part of the team that hosted Wolfsburg in the Premier League International Cup at Prenton Park — the home of National League side Tranmere Rovers.

The 26-year old looked solid for most of the game, making a number of blocks and interception and played the whole game, trying to improve his fitness.

He also came close to scoring and winning the game for his side at the other end, but failed to give his side even a draw from this game. The U23’s lost the game 2-1 on the night but Sakho’s game was clearly above a number of players in that game.

Speaking to reporters after the game, U23s manager Michael Beale was pleased with the performance and application from the 26-year-old.

“He trained with me yesterday and then today it was just about seeing how he felt,” Beale said. “With 10 minutes to go, we had a quick chat and there were no problems.

“I thought he applied himself well and he was unlucky not to score.”

He was once again active on social media, thanking his fans and the club after his appearance in the U23’s game.

Though it is said that this appearance may be a way of Klopp putting him up for sale in January but by the looks of it, even after all that Sakho did, he may still be a Liverpool player come the start of the next season.
