Liverpool are planning to swoop Serie A trio this summer if the latest reports are to be believed. The three players include AS Roma midfielders Miralem Pjanic, Radja Nainggolan and Lazio’s yound forwad Keita Balde Diao in a reported £75m.

The Reds Manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to make some serious moves this summer. Liverpool are also in dire situation where they need to compensate the void that is going to be left the Reds legend, Steven Gerrard leaving his boyhood club for LA Galaxy in MLS.

Miralem Pjanic is the midfielder that is expected to take the place of Steven Gerrard ince he leaves the club in the summer. The departure of Steven Gerrard can also be complemented with Lucas Leiva seeking new home with Italian giants Napoli and Inter Milan both showing interest in the midfielder.

Liverpool are therefore considering a different approach where they want to take talented young players and turn them into world class players. The management also willing to give Rodgers enough purse to buy the required transfer targets.

“The model at this football club is clear, we want to take young players and develop them into world-class ones, but that can be a long and a difficult process,” as quoted by Brendan Rodgers

“The owners know that, and they also know that not every player can be a developer if you are going to keep progressing. A large part of our squad will always be young players, but if you want to take those steps forward at times you have to look to bring in some ready-made players.”

The speculated amount is the rough estimation created from the values of the three players. Brendan Rodgers trip to Rome also confirmed his interest specially in the midfield duo of Roma. He was reported to have started negotiations with AS ROma over Pjanic’s deal.

Nainggolan has been one of the star players this season in Serie A with his ability to both attack and shield the side making him the ideal midfielder to have in the side. Liverpool is showing their interest in the Rome based football since December last year.

Lazio’s young forward Diao is an unproven talent and had only started 4 times this season and is yet to score a goal this season. Still a 19 year old, hence Liverpool might opt for the forward to overcome their problems in the final third.
