Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were left frustrated yet against this weekend as Slaven Bilic’s West Ham United gave them a good challenge for the three points on the night at Anfield at the weekend. Though Adam Lallana gave Liverpool the lead, Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio were both on target to get the visitors into the lead. However, Divock Origi came up with an equalizer and though they kept knocking on the door, Liverpool were just not able to find a winner and were stuck with just a point. They have now taken just 5 points from the last 5 games and are 6 points off the top of the table. Here are the player ratings for the Reds in this game.
Loris Karius (3):
Made a couple of saves but was partly at fault for both the goals on the night as the German gets himself into more trouble with a hapless performance.
Nathaniel Clyne (5):
Should have buried the chance from the edge of the box late in the game but put in a decent performance otherwise on the flank.
Joel Matip (6):
A towering performance from the center forward who showed what Liverpool missed in the last game. However, could not help his side to a victory.
Dejan Lovren (5):
Had a nervy night yet again which was cut short with a slight hamstring problem which saw him replaced with Ragnar Klavan at half time.
James Milner (7):
One of the best players for Liverpool on the day, Milner, was a constant outlet in the final third while also keeping his side of the field away from danger.
Jordan Henderson (7):
Almost produced yet another sumptuous goal in the second half as he kept the ball rolling the midfield and also created a couple of chances.
Adam Lallana (6):
Coming back from injury, Lallana put in a decent performance, scoring the first goal of the game, but he could not really help his side to a victory in the second half.
Georginio Wijnaldum (6):
Did well to connect the midfield with the attack but should have done better to bury a couple of chances that fell to him in the second half.
Sadio Mane (7):
Arguably the best player for the Reds on the night, Mane, was all over the West Ham defender, picking up an assist and helping his side to a point.
Roberto Firmino (5):
The Brazilian cut a lone figure on the flank in this game and was ineffective throughout. He created a couple of half chances but is clearly being wasted on the wing.
Divock Origi (6):
With 4 goals in the last 4 games, Origi, is taking his chances with both hands at the club and scored the all important goal on the night to give the Reds a point from this game.
