Liverpool goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux has been sent back from loan spell by Swindon Town after the goalkeeper turned up late during practice and paid a fine of £50 in pennies.

Chilean youngster Lawrence Vigouroux had joined Liverpool last season but the 21-year-old did not enjoy any game time with Reds last season so he was sent on loan to Swindon Town this season.

Unfortunately, in this week Lawrence was penalised by the club for turning up late for practice at the club. He was initially fined £150, but senior players of the club had the fine reduced to £50 in order to help the young Chilean.

According to Sportsmail, Lawrence Vigouroux finally turned up to pay with bank bags full of pennies.

Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper is already working with a small squad and is keen to ensure that discipline is maintained. Speaking about the incident, Mark Cooper said: “It’s an internal disciplinary matter. It’s come from me and the rest of the players. It won’t, it’s been dealt with.”

Lawrence Vigouroux ultmately paid the original fine of £150 and this time in notes.

The Chilean custodian was dropped to the bench for last Saturday’s 2-1 home loss to Colchester and replaced by Ty Belford who, as their only senior goalkeeper, is likely to start at Doncaster tonight.

Struggling Swindon have slipped to 17th and their striker Wes Thomas has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury.

Lawrence Vigouroux started his football education within the youth set-up at Brentford but later joined the Academy at Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in 2012. The goalkeeper signed his first professional contract with Tottenham in 2013 along with fellow graduate, Shaq Coulthirst.

In 2014 Liverpool signed from Tottenham as an youth player but due to the presence of Simon Mignolet and Brad Jones.

Liverpool are currently placed in the 9th position with 11 points from 7 matches.
