FA CUP: Predicted lineup for Liverpool against Exeter City
Liverpool are back in action this mid-week as they will play a replay of the 4th round of the FA Cup against Exeter that finished 2-2 after the first leg. Jurgen Klopp had a depleted squad the last time around and opted to play just 3 senior players in the starting XI and will be happy to have bought this game to Anfield.
However, the German will still be missing the services of star striker Daniel Sturridge who has not been in team practice after his last game in the first week of December. Christian Benteke is the only striker fit to start and will surely take his place in the starting XI on Wednesday. Simon Mignolet might be back on goal while Jerome Sinclair is out of the club and will be replaced by another youngster.
Here is the predicted line-up of Liverpool to face Exeter City in the FA Cup.
Adam Bogdan did himself no favors in his last outing against Exeter and has fallen down the pecking order at Liverpool. Danny Ward is yet to be registered for the Reds as Simon Mignolet will take his place in the starting XI on Wednesday.
Randall put in an impressive performance at the back in the first leg and will surely take his place in the squad with Clyne needing some rest.
The center back was not comfortable at the back but will have to come back to his best for Liverpool to move into the next round.
The long serving defender had a torrid time in the first leg but with Toure, Sakho and Caulker needing some rest after recent games, he will have to deputize once again at the center back position.
Smith has been a serious find for the Reds and will surely try to challenge Moreno for a spot in the senior squad when he gets his chance against Exeter.
The mid-fielder looked comfortable controlling the ball in the middle of the field and will have to do more of the same when he starts on Wednesday.
Stewart did his chances no harm in his appearance against Exeter in the first leg but will have to be at his best in the mid-field to stop the visitors from dominating the mid-field.
The attacking mid-fielder was full of energy in the 2-2 draw and will have an important role to play in the second leg of the FA Cup tie.
Joas Carlos Teixera:
Teixera is one of the those players who deserves a place in the senior squad. He is the main source of goal scoring chances for Liverpool against Exeter.
The winger did very well in his substitute appearance for the club 2 weeks ago against Exeter and with Sinclair out of the club, he will get a chance to start on Wednesday.
The big Belgian led his side out in the first leg and will surely assume the arm band and lead the attacking line for the Reds in the FA Cup tie.
