Liverpool Predicted line-up to face West Ham, Klopp to rest his key player this weekend
A trip to Upton Par awaits Jurgen Klopp’s men in their first Premier League fixture of the year 2016. Liverpool enter the game with 30 points in the 7th place and a victory can see them climb up the table in this unpredictable season. It will be important for Klopp to set his team in the right way to get a result from this game and extract revenge for the 3-0 loss earlier in the season at Anfield.
The biggest news for Liverpool fans is the return of Daniel Sturridge who is expected to play the game against West Ham. Joe Gomez, Danny Ings, James Milner and Divock Origi are all out of the game with injuries while the manager is waiting on the fitness of skipper Jordan Henderson and mid-fielder Joe Allen. Striker Christian Benteke now has two goals in the last two games and will most probably lead the line for the Reds.
Here is how they might line up at the Upton Park on Saturday:
With two clean sheets from the last two games, the Belgian will be high on confidence and will try to extend it to 3 clean sheets against the Hammers.
The ever available right back has been one of the most consistent players this season for the Reds and will start yet again in his position on Saturday.
The injury to Martin Skrtel gave the Croat a chance and he has snatched it with both hands with some impressive performances recently.
The French International looked solid against Sunderland and will surely play an important role in the game at the Upton Park.
The young full back has shown great energy on the flank and is growing in confidence by the day. He will have an important role to play on Saturday.
The injury to Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen will give Lucas Leiva another chance to cement his place in the starting XI for Liverpool.
The German international has been superb under Jurgen Klopp and is one of the first names when the team sheet is announced.
The Brazilian has not been able to find goals but is an important member of the Liverpool attack. He will try and weave his magic against West Ham on Saturday.
The ex-Hoffenheim mid-fielder has not really impressed since the game against Manchester City and will have to do more to justify his place in the squad.
Though he has not created enough chances, Adam Lallana is one of the hardest workers in the team and will start on the right hand side of he attack for Liverpool.
The Belgian international has now scored two goals in two games and missed two sitters in two games. He will have to continue his consistency and put away those half chances if he is to stay the first choice striker at the club especially after the news that Daniel Sturridge is now fit.
The busy schedule actually provides managers a headache of having to rest players. Moreno has played many games and looked a bit lethargic against Sunderland. He may be replaced by Brad Smith who impressed in his last outing. Jordan Ibe may also be given a chance in place of Firmino who has failed to impress so far. Though it is unlikely that the manager will drop a player who is on a scoring streak, the temptation to start with Daniel Sturridge will not be easy to resist. Here is another way Liverpool might play on Saturday:
Mignolet; Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Smith; Lucas, Can; Lallana, Coutinho, Ibe; Sturridge
