“Roberto Firmino will be close. We have to make a decision, maybe tomorrow – we will see. It’s another 24 hours but we cannot bring pressure in this situation and we have to wait to see how he feels and other things. Most of the players came back [from internationals] healthy, that’s cool” that’s what Klopp explained at Melwood on Friday afternoon, but it has been 5 days since then and the top league goal scorer for Liverpool hasn’t recovered from his injury yet.
The versatile Brazilian starlet picked up a hamstring injury that led to his absence from Liverpool’s 3-2 premier league defeat, at the St Mary’s Stadium on March 20 and got dropped out of the Brazil squad too. The summer signing has scored nine goals so far this season which puts him second, just behind Philippe Coutinho who has 10 goals in all competitions.
Dailystar reports that Jurgen Klopp’s medical team will assess the 24-year-old Brazilian before their flight takes off for Germany, to finalize if Firmino is fit enough to fly with the other teammates to face Borussia Dortmund for the first leg of Europa League, who are in brilliant form with 14 wins from the last of 16 matches they have played this year without a single defeat in 2016. Firmino has missed his last two league games against Southampton and Spurs and Liverpool couldn’t win either of them without him, sums up his importance in the team and Jurgen Klopp knows it very well. Thus, it is very important for Liverpool that the Brazilian joins them again as soon as possible.
