Liverpool transfer hopes rocked as Roma move ahead to sign the key target for Reds
Liverpool’s transfer plans are falling piece by piece after each of their key targets have been approached by the other European heavyweights.
In the latest news, Liverpool’s key summer striker target Edin Dzeko has been approached by the Serie A side AS Roma over a potential summer transfer. Dzeko looks to be on his way out of the club and Roma have made the Bosnian as the main man to replace the soon-to-depart Francesco Totti.
Liverpool have had a horrible time with their strikers since Luis Suarez’s departure. Since then, Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini have looked to partner the main striker Daniel Sturridge but none of the combination has worked for Brendan Rodgers.
Seeing that Liverpool had hoped to sign Edin Dzeko from Manchester City this summer but as it turns out Dzeko has been targeted by AS Roma, who will have the Champions League bait unlike Liverpool.
Liverpool missed out on Benfica Eduardo Savio after the player injured his foot and will remain out of the game for 7 months. His injury was thought to be the main reason why Liverpool backed out of the deal which was thought to be in an advance stage.
Brendan Rodgers seems to have missed on signing James Milner, who now prefers a move to Arsenal.
That is not all, according to Telegraph, Liverpool have also had their £10million bid rejected by Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne as well. Liverpool do need to act swiftly or see all of their transfer targets leave for different team.
