Liverpool Transfer Round-up: 2 New Links; 2 New Updates and One Big News

Jurgen Klopp fielded a youngest ever Liverpool side to play in the FA Cup in the third round of the competition against Plymouth this week. They could only take the game to a replay, which will give the youngsters another outing in the FA Cup.

The manager will now look to add a few players to the squad to keep up the momentum and will hope to get deals done quickly.

He has been linked with a move for a number of star players in January and now that the window is open, the transfer rumours are flying in thick and fast.

Here are all such stories coming out of Anfield today:

Klopp desperate for a winger:

The loss of Sadio Mane to AFCON has seen the Anfield outfit scout extensively for wingers who can replace the Senegalese in the first team at the club.

Dutch international Quincy Promes, who is in sublime form for Spartak Moscow, is now close to a move to Anfield as Liverpool are now ready to make a £25m bid for him in the upcoming days. Klopp is desperate for his signature and a deal might be stuck in the upcoming week. (The Sun)

Target still up for sale:

Liverpool have been looking at the top class talent around Europe in recent times and PSG’s Jese Rodriguez has emerged as a potential target in recent times.

The former Real Madrid man is currently unsettled in Paris and is ready for a move but recent reports revealed that he was heading to Las Palmas. However, representatives of the player have now revealed that those rumours have no weight and that Jese is till up for sale. (Le10Sport)

La Liga side wants Liverpool outcast:

French defender Mamadou Sakho, whose career went downhill since the drug abuse charge by the UEFA half a year ago, is now up for sale in January.

A number of Premier League clubs are ready to snap him up but Klopp is adamant that he will not be sold for less than £20m. Spanish side Sevilla are interested in his signature and have made a contact with the Reds. (Sky Sports)

Klopp makes a phone call:

The German manager is on the search for young stars who have great potential and he has been scouting Nottingham Forest starlet Ben Brereton.

The 17-year old is yet to sign his first contract and is already wanted by the likes of Manchester United but Jurgen Klopp is impressed with his performances recently and has contacted the Championship outfit via one of his scouts to try and lure the youngster to Anfield. (Mirror)

Lallana to get a new deal:

The English midfielder has been in sublime form and he has been involved in more goals from open play than any other player in Europe.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur side are interested in his signature but Klopp is determined to keep him and is ready to fend away any interests by offering Lallana a new contract. It is understood that he might be paid close to twice his current wage in the new contract. (Express)
