Liverpool look a stronger outfit than the team that shipped away 3 goals in the Europa League final against Sevilla a few months ago.
The manager has added a number of new players to the squad to allow it to adjust to his methods and if the pre-season games are anything to go by, the next season will be exciting at Anfield.
However, the manager is still looking for additions in the left-back and defensive midfield area and is still in the market for additions.
He is also responsible to reduce the wage burden on the club and needs to let go of players who will not fit into the team next season.
With all that in mind, lets take a look at all the transfer rumors surrounding the Anfield outfit today:
Benteke not too far away from Palace:
The former Aston Villa man made a £32.5m move to Liverpool last summer but has not been able to impress the new manager at the club. Klopp revealed that Benteke has not place in his squad but is only set to off-load that player if his purchase price is met by his suitors.
And it is now understood that Crystal Palace are ready to make a bid of around £32m and that the player is on the standby for a medical ahead of his move to the Selhurst Park.
Finally a left-back:
Liverpool, who are in the market for a top class left-back this summer are set to sign a La Masia product in Juanma. The 19-year old has been on a trail with the Liverpool U23 squad and has reportedly impressed Michael Beale to steal a place at the club’s junior squad.
He is not expected to make an impact on the senior side but is said to be a potential option for Liverpool in that position in the future. He will undergo a medical with the club and sign a contract in the coming days.
Galatasaray’s move for Lucas blocked:
The Brazilian midfielder was set for a loan move to Turkey this summer with reported suggesting that a deal between the two clubs was stuck. But it is now understood that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has blocked his sale and wants him at the club till the injury crisis is solved.
This has seen Galatasaray withdraw their interest with sporting director Levent Nazifoglu stating: “We are no longer pursuing Lucas Leiva. We will continue efforts to sign alternative names instead.”
Liverpool to miss out on Dahood this summer:
One of Liverpool’s top transfer targets, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Mohamed Dahoud is now reportedly staying in Germany for the next season. The Reds were linked with a move for the midfielder but it is today reported that the German outfit have rejected a £34.2m bid from French outfit PSG and want to keep the player at the club for the next season.
However, it is also revealed that the player has a release clause in his contract that will see him be sold for a mere £8.5m and this has alerted most of his suitors including the Anfield outfit.
Another midfielder link:
Liverpool have now reportedly taken the club to France as they are now scouting Guingamp midfielder Ludovic Blas for a move this summer.
However, it is revealed that French giants Lyon are desperate for his signature and are ready to make an offer and snap him up giving Liverpool very little time and chance to get their man this summer.
Yet another young left-back link:
Liverpool are now desperate for some cover in the left-back spot and have been looking all over Europe for possible personnel. And it is now revealed that Fulham’s young starlet Ryan Sessegnog is a potential target for Liverpool this summer.
The 16-year old is one of the most exciting youngsters in England’s domestic football and is not a bad option for a squad player. But he is definitely not the person that Liverpool need this summer.
Liverpool join Manchester City in race for Leandro Paredes:
Liverpool are desperate for a midfielder before the start of the next Premier League season but have not been able to strike a deal with any of their top transfer targets. However, they have not stopped looking and are now linked with Manchester City, Juventus and AS Monaco target Leandro Paredes.
The AS Roma midfielder who was on loan at Empoli last summer was impressive in his performances for the Italian outfit and Liverpool are hoping to get their hands on the 22-year old but will have to fend off interests from various clubs in Europe.
