Liverpool haven’t brought in any players in the transfer window so far and have infact lost out young Spanish midfielder Suso to AC Milan. Liverpool have however recalled young winger Jordan Ibe from his loan spell and Derby and he did get a few minutes last night as Liverpool beat Aston Villa 2-0.
The morning madness began with news that Martin Montoya, the 23 year old left back from Barcelona might be willing to leave the Catalan giants. Montoya has not had enough game time at Barcelona and although he has played a few more games under Luis Enrique, his agent has stated that the plan is the same and the player wants to move away. Liverpool have kept tabs on Montoya since last season and he could be brought in to bolster a Liverpool team which provides emphasis on wing backs with their new formation.
There seems to be a battle on hands to finalize the signature for Alex Song. The Cameroonian has been stellar for West Ham United this season in the central midfield role and has been eyed by Liverpool to bring some depth to a squad which will lose Steven Gerrard next season. Song is on loan from Barcelona but West Ham have been trying hard to get his signature and complete the signing of the player permanently.
Sardar Azmoun, dubbed the “Iranian Messi” has also been linked with Liverpool. The 20 year old player from Rubin Kazan has been incredible for the Russian outfit this season and he could be set for a move away from the club with Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs all in a battle to sign him.
Lille might be planning a replacement for Divock Origi, the Belgian is wanted at Liverpool early from his loan deal and Lille seem to be trying to sign the Icelandic player Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, Sigthorsson plays for Ajax and if Lille do sign the striker, he could pave the way for Origi to make a move to Liverpool. Earlier in the month both Rodgers and Origi did say that moving to Liverpool is an option but whatever happens, Liverpool would need to pay Lille an extra amount to bring Origi to Liverpool before the start of next season.
And it seems the Gonzalo Higuain deal is off again, despite a lot of news floating about that Higuain is willing to move away from Naples to a club challenging for the Champions League bit with Napoli steadily improving this season, it seems that Higuain has decided to stay at Napoli with his brother and agent stating that Higuain is happy at Napoli and does not want to move away.
