Liverpool, after bringing in a new manager just 8 games into the Premier League, were bound to be busy in the first transfer market for the new manager.
Jurgen Klopp has already been actively looking for deals for players who can change the fortunes of the club and has been linked with a number of top class players around Europe. Here is the round-up of all the transfer rumors involving the Reds.
To start off with, the story every scouser has an eye on, Alex Teixeira is a step closer to moving to the Merseyside. It was reported that club chief Ian Ayre flew down to try and finalize a deal for the Brazilian forward.
However, the financial part of the deal is yet to be finalized as it was reported that Shakhtar wants a lot more than the 24 million that Liverpool were ready to pay. But the form of the player has seen Liverpool accept that they have to spill the cash and it is understood that a deal will be struck any moment this week.
Recent reports have also linked the Merseyside club with PSG’s Ezequiel Lavezzi who contract at Paris is set to end this June. Chelsea and Inter Milan are in the driver’s seat for acquiring the player who has made it clear that he is not signing an extension.
However, Liverpool have now emerged as possible suitors for the forward as he is a transfer target for the Reds since the last transfer window.
Klopp and the Reds were recently rejected by Southampton in their bid to sign forward Shane Long but it has now emerged that the club is ready to up their bid to 12 million and are keen on bringing the tall forward to Anfield this January.
Though recent reports suggested that Brazilian attacker Alexandre Pato is close to signing a deal with Chelsea, it is now understood that Liverpool are still in the race for the 26-year-old and are looking for a deal for the exciting forward if his move to Chelsea falls through.
In some shocking news, Liverpool is also keen on brining European star Robert Lewandowski to Anfield. Jurgen Klopp who shared a good relation with the forward is keen on a reunion and though the deal looks improbable, Pep’s exit from the club might just give the Reds an outside chance to land the excellent attacker.
Ben Chilwell who is attracting interests from top sides in Europe is on the verge of moving to Arsenal but Liverpool are also scouting the 19-year-old and might push Arsenal out of the chase come the end of the window.
Though Liverpool have some backup on the wings, Klopp wants some backup for his stars and has reportedly identified Chilwell as the right man and might make a bid for him in the next few days.
6ft 2in goal keeper Ryan Fulton has agreed a loan move to Portsmouth, an official report from the Reds said yesterday. Fulton at 19 years of age is yet to make a senior team appearance and will be loaned out to the Championship side to try and gain some experience till the end of the season.
Lastly, Raphael Guerreiro, the FC Lorient left back is also on the radar of the Merseyside side club. The club have reportedly started preliminary talks for the 22-year old who has had a superb season so far in League 1.
With just 18 months remaining in his contract, he might be available for a good price and it is understood that the Reds are ready to make an official bid to bring him to Anfield.
