Liverpool Transfer Roundup: 2 New Updates; 2 New Links and 1 Done Deal

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will be frustrated as they managed to take only a point from the game against Manchester United having the lead but a goal to nil for more than an hour. A late goal from Zlatan gave the home side a point from this game but Klopp will be happy with his team’s performance on the night.

However, he will know that his team needs a few additions to keep it fresh until the end of the season and this has seen him linked with a number of star players for some time now.

With the transfer window now open, the rumours are coming in thick and fast and here are all such stories coming out of Anfield today:

Klopp to block Ojo move:

The English winger broke into the first team under Klopp in the previous season but has not been able to get a place in the starting XI coming back from a lengthy injury.

He is expected to play a role in the cup games but Rafa Benitez from Newcastle United was interested in taking him to the St James on loan this January. It was a chance for Klopp to give Ojo some game time but the manager has decided to block the move and has rejected all advances from the Magpies. (Echo)

The race for top transfer target heats up:

Not long ago, Liverpool were extensively linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud but they are ready to wait until the end of the season to try and lure him out of Germany.

Italian giants, Juventus are also interested in his signature and Klopp is expected to battle it out with the Turin outfit for his signature but the duo have added competition to deal with. Italian outfit AC Milan and German outfit Borussia Dortmund are also interested in his signature and are plotting a move for him at the end of the season. (Calciomercato)

Transfer target set to stay:

The Reds have been on the lookout for young talent that can help the team in the long-term and AS Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko has been on the radar for some time now.

The 22-year old is one of the most exciting players in his position in France at the moment and is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs this January including the Anfield outfit. However, Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has revealed that the player should be signing a new deal with the club in the near future. (ESPNFC)

Brooks Lennon closes in on an exit:

Anfield youngster Brooks Lennon is of increasing interest in the MLS, particularly to Real Salt Lake and Klopp is ready to let him leave this January.

The US based club made an approach for a permanent transfer but were rejected by Klopp. But they are adamant to get their man and are now plotting a loan move till the end of the season.  The 19-year old has been in sublime form for the junior side at Anfield and Klopp might keep him there for the rest of the season. Transfer target to hold talks:

The Reds lack a genuine first team left-back this season and have been looking at a few alternatives including Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac recently.

The left-back is without a contract at the end of the season and Liverpool are ready to make a move for him but Italian giants Juventus are set to sit down with the player to have talked about his move to Turin this month. Juve are preparing a £4m bid to keep Schalke happy with the transfer. (talksport)
