Liverpool vs Swamsea City: Preview, Predictions, Betting Odds and Expected Line-ups
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool will be ecstatic after they made sure that they will play in Europe next year after qualifying for the next round of the Europa League as they beat FC Bordeaux 2-1 at Anfield on Thursday. In less than three days time, the team fill face another test from the Swansea side in this week’s Barclays Premier League fixture. Liverpool are fresh off a 4-1 victory at the Etihad. This game was their best performance this season and the manager will be hoping that his team can get going and get another victory against the Welsh outfit.
Gary Monk on the other end is under immense pressure with the last few results of the Swans. They have won just 1 game in their last 5 and will have to start getting results if they want to stay in the top half of the table. However, it will not be easy for the whites to get a result against a confident Klopp side and they will have to sweat it out. Here is the preview of the game along with the Team News, Expected Line-ups, Odds and Predictions.
The Liverpool vs Swansea City match will be played on Sunday the 29th of November at the Anfield stadium in Liverpool. The kick off is scheduled at 4:15 pm BST (9:45 pm IST).
The biggest news coming out of Melwood is that star striker Daniel Sturridge is set to miss out this game against Swansea after looking ready to resume his career after an injury. Phillipe Coutinho limped off in the game against Manchester City but is back fully fit and ready to take on the Welsh outfit. Jordan Henderson and Sakho still remain side-lined and may return before the turn of the year. Lucas Leiva will also not be available for selection as he picked up his 5th yellow against City and is suspended.
The visitors have a very good and fit squad without any kind of injuries to their players. Gary Monk has a full set of players to choose from for this game against Liverpool. Ex-Liverpool player Jonjo Shelvy will be the only player to not be available for selection as he picked up his 5th yellow in the last match against Bournemouth and is suspended.
Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno, Can, Milner, Allen, Coutinho, Lallana, Benteke.
Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Cork, Ayew, Sigurdsson, Montero, Gomis.
Coutinho vs Cork:
Phillipe Coutinho has been the star player for the Reds from the last season. He has hit a goal scoring form in the recent games and has 4 goals in his last three games for his club. He will a huge threat for the Swansea midfield and Cork will mostly be the player who has to keep him in check. The Brazilian will make life difficult for the visitors and they will need all of Cork’s experience if they want to keep the home side quite.
Ayew vs Milner:
Ayew has been an important addition to Monk’s side this summer. The French International has been in good form for the Swans and has also been scoring goals for them. He will be up-against the tireless Milner who will have to keep Ayew quite for the whole game. This battle in the middle of the field will have a great bearing on the outcome of the game as an un-effective Ayew can easily stop the Swans from attacking.
Klopp has been able to change the mentality of the Liverpool players who now seem to have fun coming back from losing positions. The crowd will also be right behind the team and it will make life tough for Swansea all night. Barring a miracle, Swansea will have a tough day at Anfield and will have to do extremely well to take home a result from this game.
