Long-term Manchester United target Mats Hummels says he is not feeling any pressure to sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund.

The German defender, whose current runs out in 2017, is still confused about starting negotiations with the German giants to extend his terms.

Hummels, 27, has long been on Manchester United’s radar and manager Louis van Gaal is believed to be a huge fan of the Germany international. Brought up by FC Bayern, Hummels have become world-class during his time at Dortmund by winning successive Bundesliga titles in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

The Red Devils are already in pursuit to sign him this summer while Liverpool also have showed their interest since Klopp, the former Dortmund manager arrived at Anfield. The German manager has some serious injury concerns in his defence as he desperately needs a centre-back.

But Hummels now reveals he is quite relaxed over his future: “There have not been any talks in any direction. Everything’s still very quiet. I am relaxed about this issue because I don’t see that I am pushed for time.”

Meanwhile, the present Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel insists another of his defensive stars, Neven Subotic, will not leave the club this season. Liverpool have been keeping an eye on the Serbian defender and are believed to be preparing a January bid for him.

But Tuchel made it clear his man is not for sale, atleast for the time being.

He told: “From a coach’s point of view, I can say that we need Subotic. He’s an integral part of the team.

“If it comes down to me, but it’s not always like that, there is no reason to consider a switch.”

Dortmund’s another star midfielder Ilkay Gundogan earlier revealed he could part away with the German outfit at the end of this season and he remains uncertain about his future for now. Gundogan confirmed that he has still not taken a final decision regarding his future at Borussia Dortmund as ongoing rumours linking him with several Premier League clubs. While Manchester United and Arsenal are in the chase, however Liverpool are leading because of Gundogan’s former boss Jurgen Klopp.
