Former England striker Gary Lineker was an unexpected face in Arsenal dressing room ahead of their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
Long before the players came to Allianz Arena for the fixture, Lineker was in the away side dressing room as he did some filming for the much awaited clash for the BT Sport’s programme ahead of the match.
However, the Gunners have failed to put in a decent performance as they were bashed by the hosts in a 5-1 rout.
Bayern Munich were dominant in the initial phases of the game as a world-class Arjen Robben curler put the hosts into the lead. However, a fortunate penalty for the Arsenal have seen Alexis Sanchez score the equalizer off the rebound to put Arsenal in the game.
However, a second half rout by Bayern Munich meant the Gunners are as good as knocked out at the same stage for the seventh consecutive season.
Lineker has taken his twitter to express his views on Arsenal as he tweeted: “Arsenal have completely disintegrated. An utter shambles and rudderless after Koscielny went off.”
He was not the only one who was critical on Arsenal after their embarrassing loss. Former Arsenal defender Keown was one of them as he reckons the time is up for manager Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal great Martin Keown said: “It’s almost embarrassing – outclassed, outplayed. This is his lowest point ever. Twenty years and Arsene must be considering his future now.
“This brings forward the change that looks likely at the end of the season.
“I think it will be him that makes the decision but the realisation that the decision needs to be made is more apparent tonight.”
