Romelu Lukaku had a forgettable outing in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final on Saturday night as Manchester City beat Inter Milan to win a historic title. A stunner from Rodri was enough to settle the game between the English champions and the Italian giants.

The first half ended without a goal being score from either of the teams. The deadlock was finally broken in the 68th minute when Rodri curled a stunning shot from the edge of the box to give Manchester City the lead. Pep Guardiola and his men have now immortalized themselves by completing a historic treble.

They became just the second team after Manchester United’s legendary team of 1999 to complete the treble of Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League. As City celebrated a historic triumph, Inter Milan’s on-loan striker from Chelsea Romelu Lukaku had another big game to forget.

The Belgium international seems to have developed a penchant for hogging the limelight in a big game for all the wrong reasons. And he was at it again during the UCL final. Lukaku not only failed to inspire his team to a fourth UCL title but also found himself in an unfortunate position to deny his own team a equalizer.

Towards the end of the game, he ended up inadvertently blocking Roberto Dimarco’s goal-bound header. The deflection denied what appeared to be a certain goal as Ederson was looking set to be beaten. Few minutes later, he missed a golden opportunity to become the hero for Inter Milan after he missed a clear chance by heading the ball from a point-blank range straight at the goalkeeper.

Lukaku did not start the game and only came on as a substitute in the second half as both the teams were finding it tough to break the deadlock. And as he endured another poor outing, he and Megan Thee Stallion started trending on Twitter as fans had some laugh at his expense.

The former Manchester United striker and the American rapper recently sparked dating rumours after they were spotted together at Inter star Lautaro Martinez’s wedding. The rapper was seen cuddling up to the Belgian star. And as Lukaku failed to do well in the UCL final, the fans used the opportunity to troll him.
