The press conference of Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal ahead of the Red Devils’ tricky away fixture against Crystal Palace has taken place.
The Red Devils are 4th in the table with 20 points from 10 games. Their opponents are now 7th with 15 points from 10 games.
Manchester United last week came up with a draw against local rivals Manchester City from the Manchester Derby. But they had a setback in League Cup fourth round getting knocked out in the hands of Middlesborough.
Van Gaal confirmed that Memphis Depay, James Wilson, Paddy McNair and Antonio Valencia are all injured and will miss the game.
On being asked about Paul Scholes’ comments on him, he said, “Sticks & stones will break my bones, names will never hurt me.”
He took a dig at Scholes again and said, “He (Scholes) doesn’t have responsibility, why is he saying something? For benefit of club or himself?”
He said, “I shall do everything for this club because these fans are unbelievable.”
He continued, “We are improving a lot. It is a process, it takes 3 years and that’s why I sign 3 years.”
“We were in the last 16 of the Capital One Cup and in the Champions League. Last year it was not like this.”
The biggest possible controversial comment from the Dutchman was, “It is clear that Scholes is paid by BBC or Sky to say some things.”
