Manchester United produced a lacklustre display in their 0-0 draw against West Ham, which hasn’t helped them a least bit and their search for an attacking player is justified this season.
The club is looking to bring in elite players to sort out its issues and the winter transfer window in January will turn out to be very exciting, given that most of the top teams are taking part.
It was the 5th 0-0 result for Manchester United from 9 games at Old Trafford and it seems that LVG will be given the liberty to spend some money to bring in top players, with rumours spreading that Pep Guardiola will be replaced next summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo,Neymar are Manchester United’s big targets as of now. Harry Kane is also a target for the club and it appears as though he is more easily obtainable at £50 million than Lewandowski,Ronaldo,Neymar,Bale.
A “high-level source” of Manchester United has reportedly said that: “A club like Manchester United must have a player who will be in the top 10 on the list to win the Ballon d’Or.”
United is also expressing interest in promising 19 year old attacking midfielder Charly Musonda from Chelsea for £10 million. Manchester City also seem to be interested in him.
Meanwhile, van Gaal says that the current side is not good enough and it must spend more to be good in Europe. United chiefs though are saying that LVG’s job is not in danger as of now.
Tottenham have been clear in their intent to keep Kane at White Hart Lane but that won’t stop United trying to tempt Spurs with a £50m offer next summer.
LVG has already spent close to £300 million during his 18 month reign at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman has actually threatened to quit himself, if the players don’t respond to his methods.
He said: “I don’t think that we are able to win the Champions League now. That I don’t think. But, maybe next year (United have a better chance) when we strengthen our selection again.”
Having the support of Manchester United chiefs as of now will give him the liberty to spend more and it is to be seen who will arrive at Old Trafford this January.
