Manchester United could still have Radamel Falcao in the squad when the next season starts after UEFA have today punished Falcao’s parent club AS Monaco for breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. United are negotiating a cut-price deal to sign the Colombian striker.
As per Telegraph, UEFA have sanctioned a fine of £9.5 million as punishment to Monaco for not complying with UEFA’s FFP regulations. Monaco are willing to get Falcao off their books before next season who is currently on the club books at £330,000-a-week salary.
Manchester United signed Falcao on loan with a hope of getting one of the best strikers in the world but in return they have got a player who has been battling with injuries and is far from the player once tagged as one of the best striker in the world.
United are not willing to the earlier agreed £43 million fee to sign Falcao permanently from Moncao and now will enter to negotiate a cut-price deal for the striker next season. There are other clubs who are interested to sign the striker including Liverpool and Real Madrid.
It is yet to be seen, if Monaco would agree to sell Falcao for a loss but given how they are under pressure by UEFA to cough up more money than their investment, they could even agree to afford loss on Falcao’s sale to Manchester United.
