Arsenal won on Wednesday night, so it didn’t take long for the dressing-room photo to appear.
This time it was Mesut Ozil who posted the snap of Arsenal’s stars celebrating a 6-0 win over Ludogorets in the Champions League.
Ozil was the star of the show, netting his first career hat-trick as Arsene Wenger’s team continued their bid to top Group A.
In the photo, which you can see by scrolling down the page, Ozil is joined by Alex Iwobi, Gabriel, Santi Cazorla, Laurent Koscielny, Mohamed Elneny, David Ospina, Hector Bellerin and Theo Walcott.
It’s become almost a tradition for Arsenal’s players to share celebratory snaps after a win.
However, it has come back to hurt them. Robert Huth admitted the photo Aaron Ramsey posted, of Arsenal stars celebrating their 2-1 win against Leicester City last season, fuelled the Foxes’ title charge.
“For me the key point was when we lost to Arsenal,” Huth said, per the Independent. “Everyone was celebrating, they were doing selfies. Even though we were still top.
“A few of the lads stuck a few those pictures up and it got the blood boiling. It gave us an extra yard in the next few games.”
It’s a pretty harmless gesture, although Piers Morgan, Ian Wright and Martin Keown have all expressed their disappointment at watching Arsenal’s players revelling in a simple three points.
Rio Ferdinand joined in those sentiments last night, claiming he would only do such a thing after winning a trophy.
“I have said it before, I wouldn’t be doing that until I have got my hands on a trophy,” the former Manchester United defender said. “If that is what the boys want to do…it’s a new age.”
We can’t bear to think of the number of dressing-room photos that will appear on social media should Arsenal win the Premier League.
