Manchester United club legend David Beckham believes that his club can never suffer a trophy drought as long as arch-rivals Liverpool.

Liverpool won their English title way back in 1990, after which 25 years have passed. Manchester United in the mean time have bagged 13 Premier League trophies under Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign and have overtaken the Reds in a number of title counts. Liverpool had 18 titles while Manchester United have 20.

But the Red Devils are yet to win any trophy since their legendary manager’s retirement in 2012. After Sir Alex left the club, Manchester United finished 7th under David Moyes and last season under Louis van Gaal, the club finished fourth.

Former Manchester United star and club legend, David Beckham believes that United fans should worry much as the dip in form of the Red Devils is just a temporary issue and will soon regain their form and win trophies.

The former England captain who has won several accolades with Manchester United took a dig at Liverpool and said his team can never remain trophyless for so long.

Beckham was quoted: “I can’t see that happening to Manchester United.

“I never think we’ll not be in contention to win trophies.

“There’s too much history.

“Obviously, you have to stay on the ball with that. But there’s too much embedded into this club to let it slip away like that.”

David Beckham during his career have won Premier League six times, FA Cup two times, Champions League once. He also won 1 La Liga for Real Madrid. He retired from professional football with a Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain.

The England star is arguably one of the most popular footballers of the modern era. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid footballer holds the record for the second-most number of caps for England national team after Peter Shilton.
