Neymar’s dad has put Premier League giants on red alert as he revealed his son could leave Barcelona in near future.
Manchester United actually lead the race now for the Brazilian maestro, while rivals Manchester City and Chelsea also keep an eye on his situation in Spain.
According to some reports in Spain, Neymar Snr, whose son is currently under probe by a Spanish court for alleged corruption and fraud, admitted to the judge that an unnamed club has offered a sensational £144.4million for the in-form striker, according to a report from The Sun.
When leaving the trial in Madrid, Neymar’s father, however, confirmed the mega bid was not from Real Madrid.
Earlier there were several reports suggesting back in August United officials had secret talks over bringing in the 23-year-old Brazilian ace to Old Trafford. United boss Louis van Gaal is still keen to sign a superstar with ‘X Factor’ to inspire Manchester United supporters.
But Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola taking charge at the end of this season, and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic will be on the pursuit for Neymar again if he leaves the Nou Camp, the Old Trafford hierarchy will face a tough challenge.
Neymar, whose court case chasing him since he joined Barcelona from Santos in 2013, last week claimed he would like to play under Guardiola one day. The Spanish tactician is all set to leave Bayern Munich next season to replace Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad. Neymar said: “Guardiola is a guy I really admire — and who I would love to work with.”

The 23-year-old attacker already has 19 goals and 13 assists for Barcelona this term, and thanks to the arrival of another destructive striker Luis Suarez in the summer, it has actually helped to bring the Barca’s attacking options to a new dynamic level. But with recent rumours of the forward talking to Real Madrid in Spain, who’s to claim that Neymar could not have been talking to Manchester United, as they ar desperate to make a statement of intent to their supporters and the world of football.
The Brazilian maestro along with his Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi, had been linked with a sensational move to Manchester City over the past few weeks but it was the Red half of Manchester who were said to be keen to materialise a huge deal for Neymar.
And the Barcelona ace, who is right now negotiating a new contract with the Catalans, had also earlier made it clear that the Premier League giants are interested in snapping him up as their new poster-boy. Last month when asked by a Spanish media outlet if he was aware of interest from Manchester City, Neymar smiled and said: “Yes, yes.”
The former Santos striker, who cost the Catalans £49million, has three years remaining on his current contract at the Nou Camp.
