Man United star called out by fierce UFC fighter for a face to face challenge 1

UFC welterweight Danny Roberts has issued a challenge to Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic after learning the big Swede has a black belt in Taekwondo.

While speaking to The Mirror ahead of UFC 204 this Saturday night, ‘Hot Chocolate’ said he’s open to testing himself against the 35-year-old footballer, saying: “If he’s willing to fight I’m here.”

Roberts is currently preparing for his showdown with Mike Perry this weekend, hoping to continue his unbeaten streak sine joining the promotion.

Speaking on Zlatan’s credentials as a Taekwondo practitioner, Roberts was somewhat surprised, but not deterred from a possible bout against the big man.

“I’d like to see him in the octagon, see what he’s got.

“I’ll make the weight anytime.”

The event will take place in Manchester, England and is headlined by middleweight champion Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson, a rematch from their affair at UFC 100.

Zlatan joined Manchester United on a free transfer this summer from Ligue 1 side Paris St-Germain. Since his arrival, the forward has notched 4 goals in 7 appearances and kept captain Wayne Rooney out of his usual central striker role.

With the international break currently in effect, Zlatan might be in attendance at UFC 204 this weekend to check out the fights, who knows, he might even run into Roberts on the night.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic has is continuing his intense preparations for united’s trip to Liverpool later this month and urged his teammates to follow his example.

The prolific attacker, who turned 35 earlier this week, should spearhead the United attack in what will be his first appearance at Anfield since enduring a frustrating night with Inter Milan in the Champions League over eight years ago.

Liverpool defeated the Nerazzurri 2-0 on that occasion.

Ibrahimovic, who retired from international football after Euro 2016, has left teammates buzzing by his presence and Ander Herrera spoke effusively about the Swedish legend last week.
