The Premier League clubs spent world record amounts on their transfer targets in the summer spending more than a billion on incoming transfers before the start of the season.
Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have all spent big in the transfer market but 11 games into the season, it is clear that all three teams need further additions to maintain their place at the top of the table in this competitive season.
Though the clubs are searching for players to add in January, they have also kept an eye on stars who they can lure to their club after the end of the season.
One such player who is wanted by almost every big European club is Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.
The French international is in the form of his life this year, helping the Spanish outfit to a Champions League final and his country to the EURO16 final earlier this year.
He has 8 goals in 14 games in all competitions this season and has once again started the campaign in fine form.
Earlier last month he revealed that he will not leave the Spanish club until manager Diego Simeone stays and that saw the chances of him leaving the club decrease.
However, the Ateltico manager recently said that he might leave the club at the end of the season which has once again seen clubs monitor his position.
Standing as one of the best strikers in Europe, Griezmann is one of the most wanted player in the market at the moment and Antonio Conte’s Chelsea and Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho are locked in a battle to land the star.
The French star is valued at £70m and there are not many clubs who can pay up but one other club that has now joined the race in Premier League outfit Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola started the season with fine form but has now found consistency hard to come by. He has not been able to get results recently and is now pondering over improving his squad over the summer.
There are a number of star players that Guardiola wants at the end of the season and Griezmann is the latest name linked with the Etihad outfit.
Sergio Aguero and Kelechi Iheanacho are the only recognized strikers at the club at the moment and Guardiola is desperate for additions to his attack.
A price of £70m will not scare them and if Guardiola has his heart on the player, we might be in for a transfer battle between two of the richest clubs in Europe next summer.
However, It will be interesting to see if Griezmann is ready to play in any of the Premier League clubs. Do you think Griezmann will move to England at the end of the season?
