The biggest news in the transfer market these days is Barcelona star Pedro Rodriguez is all set to join Premier League giants Manchester United in the coming days.

Pedro was not fielded in the starting lineup against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup which made it more imminent that the winger is moving out of the club. When the entire world got convinced about the player’s move to United, a new speculation pops up now that United’s city rivals Manchester City have joined the race to sign Pedro, according to DailyMail.

The English media suggests that the Cityzens who are on a spending spree to bolster their squad this season are apparently interested in signing the Pedro. The Cityzens were initially linked with Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne and it was believed that the club would spend close to £45m to lure his services.

Manchester United desperately wants the star winger as replacement of Angel Di Maria who left the club for PSG this summer after spending just a season at Old Trafford.

City’s arrival in the race is believed to be due to the presence of director of football Txiki Begiristain, who has contact with the player since his time at Barcelona. Txiki is understood to be keeping a close eye on negotiations in case their £5m move for Kevin De Bruyne stalls.

The Pedro to City speculations have intensified the transfer market now as the two Premier League will flex their money muscles to get Pedro to their respective clubs.
