The big English clubs are now keen on adding more quality players to their current squads as they chase silverware this season and it seems now that former champions of England, Manchester City were quite keen to complete a big money move for their midfield target Leroy Sane in the January transfer window, as per recent claims. Also, there were other reports stating that the attacker was wanted by their league rivals Liverpool, who were looking to reinforce their squad in the new year as well, as Jurgen Klopp’s side looks to fight for titles as well.

Further, it seemed that Manuel Pellegrini’s side would have to make a €55m offer if they were serious about bringing the Schalke 04 man to the Etihad, which would see the 19 year old attacking midfielder become the most expensive German in the Premier League history if it indeed did happen.

The Manchester based side were all set to break north London side Arsenal’s €50m record for signing Mesut Ozil from La Liga giants Real Madrid back in 2013.

However, it seems now that the deal might not actually go through, as confirmed by club chairman Clemens Tonnies says that both the club and the player have other ideas, as he told the local press that Sane would not be leaving any time soon.

In a recent interview with the Recklinghauser Zeitung, talking about the future of his young star, he stated, “We’ve decided Leroy isn’t for sale.”

“And the player does not want to leave Schalke. So that’s not an issue.”
