Manchester City vs Chelsea: Where To Watch, Live Streaming, Date, Timing, Squad, Lineups, Venue:
On Sunday, Manchester City may face Chelsea as the Premier League champions. Pep Guardiola’s team would already have won a fifth title in six years if Arsenal lost against Nottingham Forest on Saturday as the champions inch closer to a storied triple. After a spectacular run of form, one more City victory would suffice even if the Gunners win less than 24 hours earlier.
City will shortly mark off the first of what they hope will be three trophies over the coming weeks after making it to the Champions League final and the FA Cup final. City already has an FA Cup Manchester-derby final at Wembley scheduled for a week earlier. With a resounding 4-0 semi-final second-leg victory at home against holders Real Madrid on Wednesday, Pep Guardiola has successfully guided the Citizens into the Champions League final.
Chelsea, on the other hand, has close to nothing to play for. Even though Frank Lampard, the interim manager, has mentioned playing for pride, it’s hard to see any evidence of that right now. The Blues are currently in 11th place in the Premier League table, eight points behind West London rivals Fulham in 10th with a game remaining.
With Man City, Man United, and Newcastle United as their final three opponents, it appears unlikely that the Blues will pick up any additional points this season. That is because of Chelsea enters the match on Sunday having lost six of their past seven trips to the Etihad and none of their previous 14 Premier League games against clubs that started the day above them in the standings.
