Manchester City vs Swansea City: Preview, Predictions, Expected Line-ups and Betting Odds.
After the rush of the Champions League’s group stage ended this week, teams in the Premier League will turn their attention towards their domestic form with a busy list of fixtures to look forward to later this month. Manchester City played a confident game to see out Borussia Monchengladbach and top their group and will try to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat at the Britannia Stadium in their last Premier League game.
Swansea City on the other hand felt the wrath of the most fluid team this season in Leicester as they were handed a 3-0 drubbing in their last game. They fired their manager Gary Monk and will play this game without a manager. They will not relish playing the Citizens as they may well be handed their third defeat in as many matches. Here is the Preview of the game along with the Expected Line-ups, Predictions and Betting Odds.
The Manchester City vs Swansea City game will be played on Saturday the 12th of December at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. The kick-off is scheduled at 3:00 pm BST (8:30 pm IST).
Manuel Pellegrini has some good news as star striker Sergio Aguero is set to return for the home side after missing out three matches in all competitions for them. He might not start the game but surely have a role to play. Fernando who limped off last weekend is not expected to return any time soon while Zabaleta and Kompany are still sidelined due to injuries. Samir Nasri remains a long term absentee while Martin Demichelis might find a place on the bench after he has recovered from his niggle.
Swansea City on the other hand has just two injury problems at the moment. Franck Tabanou is nearing full fitness and will be available for the next game while Portuguese forward Eder is a doubt for this game and needs to be careful with the amount of match time he has had in the recent past. But the bigger question in this game is how Swansea will line-up in the absence of a manager.
Manchester City (4-2-3-1):
Hart; Sagna, Kolarov, Otamendi, Demichelis; Fernando, De Bruyne; Sterling, Silva, Fernandinho; Bony
Swansea City (4-2-3-1):
Fabianski; Naughton, Taylor, Bartley, Williams; Ayew, Sung-yueng; Routledge, Sigurdsson, Britton; Gomis
Otamendi vs Gomis
Nicolas Otamendi has not yet been able to settle into the Premier League and has not impressed his manager to warrant a regular place in the side. He will have to be alert in dealing with the likes of Gomis who is not only a good finisher but can also create chances for his side. Otamendi should be careful to not give him too much space to work with.
Silva vs Sung-yueng
Sung-yeung, one of the two holding midfielders in the Welsh side is a more defensive player and will clash against the trickery of David Silva. Silva who came back from injury recently showed no signs of rustiness and has already shown what he is capable of. Sung-yeng should be careful to not allow Silva any time on the ball else the Spaniard can easily hurt them.
Manchester City: 1/3
Swansea City: 9/1
Both teams are fresh from a loss in their last league game and will want to make things right quickly. A manager-less Swansea side will surely try to prove to their fans that they are a team capable of competing with the best. This game will not be easy for Manchester City and they will have to fight it out to get all three points.
