Zlatan Ibrahimovic once again made the difference for Manchester United as his brace gave Manchester United a thrilling 3-2 victory over Southampton in the EFL Cup final.
The final match lived up to its expectations as the Saints gave their fancied opponents a run for their money before Ibrahimovic’s last-gasp header settled the tie. Jose Mourinho’s men were looking destined to win the match with utmost ease when Ibrahimovic and Jesse Lingard gave them a 2-0 lead inside 40 minutes. However, Manolo Gabbiadini scored late in the first half and then minutes after the break to set up a tense finale.
Claude Puel’s men already had a goal wrongly ruled out for outside in the first half and they threatened again when Oriol Romeu crashed a header off the post after the break but the tie was not for them as Ibrahimovic headed in three minutes from time to give his side its first silverware of the season. Earlier, the Swede has opened the scoring with a brilliant free-kick before Lingard doubled the lead with a neat finish.

I've lost count of how many wrong offside decisions have been made in favour of Man United this season.

Has just been a year since Marcus Rashford made his debut for Manchester United. 53 appearances later, he’s won 3 trophies. Very impressive.

Manchester United are a one-man team, and it isn't the one that cost £90m. It's a funny old game.

Every team has a twelfth man:
Liverpool – The Kop
Chelsea – The Matthew Harding
