Manchester United might steal key Chelsea target from Atletico Madrid
According to report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United are keen to sign Atletico Madrid play maker Arda Turan as the Red Devils are willing to offer Atletico Madrid in excess of £28million to complete the signing this summer.
The 28-year old is heavily linked with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool besides Manchester United earlier. His agent has confirmed that the play maker is keen to prove himself in Premier League.
Arda Turan has been an integral part of Atletico Madrid’s recent success as they have won La Liga, Copa del Rey and Europa League in the recent years. The player believes this is the right time for a new challenge as he had earlier considered staying with Atletico due to his special relationship with Diego Simeone.
Arda Turan’s agent Bulut recently said, “[Arda] intends to leave Spain this summer. His wish is to leave to play in the Premier League, at this moment that is the path he would like to take to further his career. His exit from Atletico is not something easy, as he has a release clause of €41 million.
“There are conversations under way with three teams, at the moment I cannot say the names, but they are the best teams in England and European football.”
Bulut has confirmed AC Milan and PSG have approached but claims that Turan is not interested to move to either Italy or France.
“It’s true, Milan and PSG are two of the six teams which have shown an interest in him. But the Italian team are not one of his options, as they are not playing in the Champions League. PSG are a possibility, but Arda always wanted to test himself in England.”
The player would provide a lot of width in Manchester United’s attack which will help the central forwards to gain more space. Louis van Gaal is looking to sign the player but his agent also says there are three Premier clubs who are interested in him.
