Michael Owen is one of the few players who has played for both Liverpool as well as Manchester United. After starting his career with the Merseyside club, the striker went on to play for the Reds’ arch-rivals, United, towards the end of his career. However, when it comes to supporting a team between the two, the retired footballer has always shown his loyalty to Liverpool.

Owen once again showed his support for the Anfield outfit while attending the EFL quarterfinal tie between Liverpool and Leeds. Expressing his delight to be back at the club where he enjoyed a highly successful stint, he tweeted:“A night off. No better place to be!”

Well, it seemed his tweet did not go down too well with the Old Trafford faithful who were quick to remind the former striker that he once also played for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, second-half goals from Divock Origi and Ben Woodburn gave the home team a 2-0 win over Leeds. Gary Monk’s men had Liverpool in all sorts of trouble but failed to capitalise on their chances as Jurgen Klopp’s men booked their place in the semifinal of the tournament.
