Manchester United have been offered a chance to sign a Napoli forward, who is eyeing a move to the Premier League next summer. While United fans may have gotten excited with Victor Osimhen’s name flashing up in their minds, he is not the player in discussion here. Napoli winger Hirving Lozano is the man who could join the Red Devils, if they make the efforts to snap him up.
The Mexican’s agent has Alessandro Monfrecola has openly admitted that his client will be on the move next June, and could end up at Manchester United or Everton. Lozano had completed his ‘dream move’ to Napoli in the summer of 2019, and fast forward three years, it has now turned into a nightmare. The Naples side had splashed a massive €47 million on his signing from PSV Eindhoven, after his impressive spell in Holland which saw him accumulate 63 goal contributions [40 goals and 23 assists] in just 79 games over the course of two years.

Manchester United will need attacking reinforcements next summer after Ronaldo quits
Manchester United were ready to spend a lot this summer to reinforce their attack after the appointment of new manager in Erik ten Hag. However, they evidently failed to attract their top priority targets as Ten Hag had to settle with the signing of his former associate Antony from Ajax for a whopping £85 million. Moreover, Cristiano Ronaldo too asked the club to let him leave since he wanted Champions League football.
While the Red Devils may have succeeded in keeping the 37-year-old this summer, he is once again slated to seek a transfer out in the winter market. And this time, Ten Hag too has reportedly green-light the sale of his striker who has warming the bench so far this season. United will significantly lose their attacking potent if Ronaldo leaves in winter or next summer. Add to it, their winger duo of Jadon Sancho and Antony are yet to adapt completely to English football.
Ten Hag needs depth there if he is to steer the club to a top-four finish this season, and Lozano could be the one who provides him with the same. The versatile player naturally plies his trade as a right-winger, but can also be deployed as a no.9 or a second striker. United were earlier interested in signing a player with same profile as they were eyeing Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann. Lozano could be their chance to finally land a player of their choice, as his agent has confirmed he wants a move out of Italy next summer. Monfrecola said:
“Next June, [Hirving] Lozano will leave in my opinion, also because he earns over 4 million at Napoli. Although he is delighted to be here, he has never hidden that he aspired to the top English clubs, although now he is probably realising that Napoli itself is a top club.”

The agent further adds that while his player love a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, Man United and Everton, who tried to sign him with Carlo Ancelotti at the helm, are realistic options as well.
“He has never hidden that he loves Barcelona and Real Madrid, but unless Ancelotti falls in love with him again, he has no market. I think he could land in Manchester United or Everton. This does not exclude that other English teams could enter the negotiations.”
Hirving Lozano had endured a tough period at Napoli, more so after the arrival of Matteo Politano in 2020. The winger has constantly found himself out of the starting line-up since the start of the last season, with only 5 starts in 9 games this season as well. The 20/21 season was his only prolific one, where he bagged an impressive 15 goals and 5 assists in 43 games. But he has only managed 6 goals and 7 assists in 46 appearances since the last season. With United in the frame, it will be interesting to see whether the Red Devils bet their odds on a player who has lost his touch since quitting the Eredivisie.
