Man United legend slams Mourinho's boys for 'swapping shirts and laughing' after 4-0 defeat to Chelsea 1

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has slammed the United players for their attitude after the final whistle was blown in their 4-0 thrashing by Chelsea. The United players were seen smiling and swapping shirts with their Chelsea counterparts.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was severely criticised for his performance at Stamford Bridge, was seen in a light mood after the game as he swapped shirts with Eden Hazard. United keeper David de Gea was seen having a jovial chat with his Spain teammate Pedro while Anthony Martial walked out of the field with his arm around France teammate N’Golo Kante. Juan Mata was also seen sharing hearty laughs with his former teammates.

Well, the reaction has not gone down too well with Giggs, who said:“You can get beat in a football match, but then when you’re getting beat and you’re swapping shirts – which is something I don’t like, call me old fashioned.” Giggs said.

“If you get beat 4-0, you congratulate the opposition, you thank the supporters and then you get off the pitch.

“You don’t stand around on the pitch swapping shirts and laughing with the team that’s just beat you.”

Meanwhile, United are now seventh in the league after suffering their third defeat in the first nine games. On the other hand, goals from Pedro, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante was the Blues registering their third consecutive win. With 19 points, they are currently fourth in the league.

Mourinho, who was returning to Stamford Bridge for the first time after being sacked by the Blues last season, was very disappointed with his team’s performance and said:“I told my players at half-time, we have to chase the result in a situation where Chelsea is very comfortable.”

“We put ourselves in a situation where we gave them the game they want.

“We could have scored for 2-1, they scored for 3-0. The performance has to be analysed together with the defensive mistakes and we were punished.

“In the end, we will be around.”
