Swansea City have not had the best starts to their Premier League campaign this season having picked up just 4 points from their first 5 games. They are currently level on points with AFC Bournemouth in 17th position in the points table and are in desperate need of some results.
Francesco Guidolin, the manager who took charge of the club in January, helped the Swans stay clear of the relegation zone come the end of the previous season and has made some decent additions to the squad in the summer.
However, with the poor start to the campaign this season, Guidolin is now reportedly that odds on favorites to get sacked in the Premier League soon.
It is not just the results that see his place in danger. The manager has reportedly had a feud with senior players Neil Taylor and Ki Sung-Yeung recently. In the pre-season, he reportedly missed a training session with his side as he reportedly took a leave to enjoy the Tour de France on TV.
This has seen the owners of the club, Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien, who took over the club in June, ready to axe the manager in due time.
And it is now revealed that Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is touted as the favorite to land the Liberty job this season.
It is revealed that the owners of the club are not yet ready to make drastic changes and that they are looking for some stability but if Guidolin does not change his methods and does not get back to winning ways, they may be forced to throw him out of the job early this season.
Former Manchester United assistant manager, Ryan Giggs, has in the past spoken about his desire to turn into a full-time manager and a shot at Swansea City may not be a bad way to start his career.
Reports also suggest that the chairman of the Welsh outfit Huw Jenkins considered approaching Giggs to succeed Guidolin, but the move was blocked by the club’s new American owners.
As revealed, the new owners of the club are looking for some stability and are ready to give Guidolin another chance before sacking him.
And now it is revealed that Jenkins was supposed to meet Giggs after the League Cup defeat to Manchester City but postponed his plans after being asked by the owners of the club.
It is not clear whether Ryan Giggs will take the offer and make a move immediately but he is interested in a full-time managerial position and might be tempted to move to Wales.
Do you think Ryan Giggs is the right man for Swansea City?
