Manchester United and Manchester City preparing sensational bid for Barcelona superstar 1

Bitter city rivals Manchester United and Manchester City are all set to lock horns to secure the signing of Barcelona superstar Luis Suarez. Spanish news outlet Don Balon has claimed that the Premier League giants are ready to splash the cash if the former Liverpool striker fails to sign a new deal before the end of the current season.

Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola are desperate to bolster their front line after a difficult season so far. With Wayne Rooney demoted to the bench after a string of poor performances and Zlatan Ibrahimovic also looking off-colour, the Red Devils have struggled to get the goals. With pressure piling on the Portuguese tactician, he would be desperate to bring a quality striker to the club.

On the other hand, City striker Sergio Aguero has fallen out of favor with Pep Guardiola. The Argentina international started the season brilliantly under new coach Pep Guardiola by netting eleven goals in only six but was a surprise omission from the starting eleven for the Champions League tie against Barcelona. He was also dropped from the starting eleven in the games against Everton and Manchester United. The incidents have raised questions about his future at the Etihad and there are reports that the striker is already eyeing his options. The club is also aware of this and according to the report in the Spanish outlet, Manchester City’s chief executive Ferran Soriano has already told the Spanish club that they would only make an offer for the 29-year-old striker if Barcelona invited it.Both the clubs share a good relationship and Soriano does not want to upset the La Liga champions.

However, United are willing to go all out for the striker and reports claims that they are readying an offer that Barcelona would find hard to turn down. Suarez has a release clause of £180 million and the report claimed that while United are not willing to trigger the release clause they are ready to pay up to  £135 million to secure the services of the Uruguay international.

The forward has recently said that he would like to spend his entire career at the Catalan club and moreover, his connections with Liverpool makes this transfer really interesting.
