Manchester United are ready to let go Donny van de Beek in their bid to land AC Milan’s Ismael Bennacer. The Red Devils are planning to propose a swap deal between Van de Beek and Bennacer, who is also wanted by Arsenal.

United highly rate Bennacer who has bossed the midfield for Milan since joining them in 2019. On the other hand, the Gunners also eye a move for their former academy player who earlier failed to make his mark at the club.

The defensive midfielder played for the Arsenal under-21s as well as Under-23s back in 2015. However, Bennacer has added a lot of quality to his game and is hence back on the radar of the North Londoners.

But they face stiff competition from United, who are offering Van de Beek to AC Milan for Bennacer.

No place for Donny van de Beek at United despite Ten Hag’s arrival

The reports have raised every fan’s eyebrows, since Van de Beek who previously worked with Ten Hag was expected to finally get a fair chance after his appointment as United’s manager.

Ten Hag however looks more impressed with Bennacer and is willing to sacrifice his old associate for the Algerian.

Milan too are willing to let Bennacer go, but want as much as £38 million for the 24-year-old. United feel they can escape paying the fee by offering Donny van de Beek in a straight swap with Bennacer.

It comes as a bad news for the Dutch midfielder who wants to impress at United. Speaking to the club’s website Van de Beek said, “[Manchester United] is a massive club with a lot of fans and, to wear the shirt, it’s always a special feeling.

“For me as well, I’m really happy to be back. For my experience, I think [the Everton loan] was good. Obviously, I was a little bit unlucky with my injuries, but, overall, it was a good experience to be there.”

Bennacer has come under the radar of both Arsenal and United after his dominance last season. The midfielder racked up 40 plus tackles, interceptions, dribbles, shot-creating actions and a whopping 410 presses in his 31 Serie A games.

Reports from Italy suggest Ten Hag is ready to ensue in a battle with Arsenal to acquire Bennacer this summer. But for Donny van de Beek, it seems end of the road for his already damp Manchester United career.
