Manchester United Player ratings: Pogba, Mata shine as Red Devils pip Foxes by 4-1 1

Manchester United are at their very best against Premier League champions Leicester City as they came out winners with a remarkable 4-1 margin.

The Red Devils were under severe pressure to up their game as they have lost three games in a row prior to their EFL cup win against Northampton. Manager Jose Mourinho has decided to bench Wayne Rooney as he started Juan Mata in the No.10 role. The move paid dividends as Manchester United looked a whole different side than they were in the last 15 days.

Manchester United have scored four goals in the first half and went into the break with a four-goal advantage for the first time since 2001. Here we look at the player ratings of Manchester United players after their impressive performance today.

De Gea- 6

Was quiet for most of the game with hardly anything to do in the first-half. Managed a couple of decent saves but have failed to keep a clean sheet.

Valencia- 7

Looked good both in attack and defense but failed to make in runs on the right flanks and his crosses were always wild way off the mark.

Bailly- 6

Looked a bit shaky at times in the first half. Also, not at his best this game but had a decent game to clinch three points.

Smalling- 8

Scored the opening goal for the team and looked impressive as he eliminated the threat of Slimani with some great defending.

Blind- 8.5

Was the best defender for the team today as he made impressive runs into the Leicester defense and opened up space for other attackers. Was also very good at corners and bagged a couple of assists.

Herrera- 8

Very impressive in the defensive midfield and made the perfect balance in the team between the attack and defense.

Mata- 9

Has shown Jose Mourinho why he needs to start. He is very impressive at No.10 role as he linked the full backs perfectly in the attacking play. Great performance as he capped it with a great goal.

Pogba- 9

Man of the Match performance! Hard choice between Mata and Pogba, but the Frenchman has been brilliant with his attacking and defensive play. He has made two outrageous chip passes to Zlatan playing him onside which has shown his capabilities.

Lingard- 7

Another quiet match for the attacker as he made a decent performance overall but it was shadowed by his fellow attackers who have been absolutely dominant.

Rashford- 8

The youngster is looking bright day by day as he scored another goal for the club. The 18-year old is definitely the one to look for the future as he gave his all.

Zlatan- 8

Not his best day scoring-wise but was very impressive as he linked with other attackers to make the most out of Leicester defense. Also played some delightful balls to Rashford who fluffed his lines.
