Manchester United are back in action this week as they take on Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the group stage game in the Europa League on Thursday. They are fresh from a 0-0 draw against Liverpool at the weekend and they will hope to put in a better performance against Fenerbahce this week. Manchester United need all three point from this game to go into the top half of the group table and playing at home, they will be expected to take them. But with a trip to the Stamford Bridge looming large at the weekend, Mourinho might use a weaker lineup for this game. Here is the predicted lineup for United for this fixture:
The manager revealed that French duo Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin are both out of this game due to injuries they picked up in the training before the Liverpool game. Phil Jones remains the only other injury concern as both Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are expected to be back for this game.
After an impressive performance at the weekend, David de Gea deserves some rest and will be replaced by Romero for this European tie.
Timothy Fosu Mensah:
The youngster was impressive in the previous outing in the same competition and should keep his place in the side as a right-back for this game.
Slowly learning more about the league, Bailly, will need all the game time he can get this season and will start this game against Fenerbahce.
Putting in a solid performance at Anfield, Smalling, will once again have an important role to play in the side in this Europa League fixture.
Got a few minutes under his belt at Anfield but will need some regular gametime before coming back in action. This game give Mourinho a great chance to provide him with the time in the middle.
The Spaniard has been impressive recently for Untied and was one of the best players for the side against Liverpool. He should keep his place in the midfield for Untied for this game.
The world record signing was not at his best at the weekend but he is an impact player and should start this game on the night for the Red Devils.
The Armenian winger has not been able to keep himself fit since his move to the Premier League but Mourinho revealed that he is fit for this game and should start on the wing for his side.
The Spaniard missed out on a place in the game at Anfield but he should be back in the starting XI for this game against Fenerbahce.
Another player who missed out on a place against Liverpool, Lingard, has been a constant presence in the side for Untied and should start for the side on Thursday.
Though not in the plans of the manager at the moment, Rooney, provides Mourinho with the best option to lead the side for this game ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge.
