Manchester United predicted lineup to face Leicester City 1

Manchester United will be looking to get their Premier League campaign back on track when they welcome defending champions Leicester City on Saturday (September 24). The Red Devils started their season with three consecutive wins but then a slump in form saw them losing three matches on the trot including two in the league. They gave a dismal performance in their last league outing against Watford and lost the match 3-1. However, a 3-1 win against Northampton in EFL Cup will give them the much-needed confidence to play against the Foxes.  On the other hand, after making a slow start to their defence, Leicester City thrashed Burnley 3-0 in their last league and will look to continue their winning momentum.

As a team, United are still not looking settled and their boss Jose Mourinho will have to sort it out quickly before the season enters its business phase.

Here is the lineup that Mourinho will most probably against the champions:

David de Gea

The Spain international will make a comeback to the playing eleven after Sergio Romero was given his first chance in the goal against Northampton. So far, de Gea has failed to replicate his last season’s form and will be looking to get it back sooner than later.

Antonio Valencia:

One of the most impressive performers under Mourinho, Valencia is expected to return to the playing eleven after missing the EFL Cup tie.

Eric Bailly:

Bailly will be desperate to get back his form that made him an instant hit at Old Trafford a few weeks ago.

Daley Blind:

Luke Shaw’s injury means the Dutch international will start as the left-back. So far, he has failed to give an impressive performance and he will have to start performing as time is running out for him.

Chris Smalling:

The defender is still trying to find his rhythm after returning from injury. Mourinho is playing him for his physical presence at the back and he needs to justify him quickly.

Ander Herrera:

Probably the most impressive player in the midfield for United. The Spain international scored  a brilliant goal in the last match against Northampton and will look to cement his place in the starting lineup with another good outing.

Paul Pogba:

Mourinho has played him deeper and he has failed to perform according to the expectations. Showed the glimpse of his immense talent against Watford when his brilliant effort hit the woodwork but he would be desperate to justify his price tag as soon as possible.

Juan Mata:

The Spain international was not included in the starting eleven against Watford but Anthony Martial’s injury means he will start on the left-wing.

Wayne Rooney:

The United skipper is under immense pressure to perform. With rumours of Mourinho planning to axe him doing the rounds, Rooney will have to hit top gear soon to retain his place in the team.

Marcus Rashford:

One of the most impressive players in the right now, Rashford’s ability to get the crucial goals will compel the United boss to include him in the team.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

After starting the season  with a bang, the maverick striker has struggled with his form but is expected to start.
