Manchester United are reportedly planning to reignite their interest in Real Madrid striker Gareth Bale and lure the Welshman back to the England, as reported by The Sunday People.

Bale, who became the most expensive footballer in the history of football after Real Madrid in 2013 signed him from Tottenham for a staggering £85 million, has always been the Red Devil’s top priority target after Ed Woodward became Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman.

In 2013, Woodward first attempted to hijack Bale, after David Moyes was appointed, but Real Madrid convincingly defeated him to sign the Welsh winger. But with huge financial boost, Woodward continued to watch over Bale’s progress at the Bernabeu and, following fresh reports of unrest in the Spanish capital, United are again planning to make another bid.

Manchester United are ready to enter into any kind of negotiations with Bale’s agents for a proposed move which will include David de Gea going back to his country, as the Spaniard’s move to Real Madrid was shuttered on the deadline day of summer transfer window.

Reports suggest that the relationship between Real Madrid and Manchester United is at present an all-time low after the de Gea debacle but Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman, Woodward is still keen on doing business and finally bring in his long-standing dream transfer target Gareth Bale.

Louis van Gaal’s this United squad are not been able to deliver in front of goal, failing to bag a single goal in over four hours of football and that ignited criticisms of captain Wayne Rooney following a run of poor performances. Football pundits are saying, Anthony Martial has done well after his big-money arrival from Monaco, but he is not a natural scorer. Though Bale is not seen as a genuine striker, his stardom could bring plenty of attacking variety to this goal-shy side.

According to reports from the Mirror, Manchester United are also interested to sign Bayern Munich’s exciting attacking pair Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller, but Woodward could see a potential bid for those two players quite difficult and problematic to negotiate, especially keeping in mind Bayern’s recent denial of rumours linking Muller with a move to Old Trafford.

However, Manchester United are ready to place an offer on the sense that Gareth Bale is yet to fully settle in Spain. Despite playing in his third campaign at Santiago Bernabeu after his £85m transfer from Tottenham back in 2013, Bale has surprisingly still not able to win over the majority of Madridistas.

His time at Bernabeu has never been a smooth one as Bale is frequently booed  by Madrid supporters and recent reports came into light, his relationship with Real’s iconic star Cristiano Ronaldo is not going well.
