Jose Mourinho fell to his first defeat since taking charge of the Old Trafford outfit this weekend as Pep Guardiola’s side managed to get the better of them in their own back yard.
The Portuguese made some impressive signings this summer adding the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba to his squad from the previous season.
The Red Devils squad looks a stronger one from the previous season and though it has its own weak links, it is a team that can compete with the best in Europe.
However, the manager has not stopped looking to improve on his squad and just 10 days after the deadline day, is linked to a host of talent in Europe.
One such player who is now reportedly being scouted by Mourinho is Juventus wonder kid Grigoris Kastanos.
The Cypriot international moved to the Italian giants back in 2014 but is yet to make an appearance for the club in the two years.
He is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Italy at the moment and Juventus are not ready to sell him anytime soon.
It is understood that the 18-year old is in talks with the Turin outfit for a new contract that will raise his buy-out clause to £17m.
However, with the price hardly an issue for the English outfit it is understood that Mourinho is weighing up a bid for the 18-year old next summer.
It is also revealed that the Red Devils had scouts watching over the midfielder in a recent international game which was just his second for the senior Cyprus national side.
The 18-year old also scored a brace against Manchester City in a recent youth cup game and is now attracting interest from the Old Trafford outfit.
It will be interesting to see if Juventus are ready to let the player leave next summer but if they are, Manchester United are in pole position to acquire his signature.
Do you think Kastanos is a good addition to the squad at Old Trafford?
