Manchester United will reportedly place an offer for Tottenham star Harry Kane at the end of this season as Louis van Gaal is still interested on a move for the 22-year-old striker.

Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato  sourced by beIN Sports, claimed an approach for  Harry Kane is on the verge  after Manchester United missed the chance to sign him in the summer transfer window.

Reports are saying that United’s previous bid of £25m was rejected as Tottenham was trying to gain enough compensation for the 22-year-old Englishman, who is surprisingly not in form so far in this campaign.

After scoring 31 goals in total 51 appearances during his extraordinary 2014-15 campaign, Kane has now just managed to score only one goal in 12 matches this season.

United manager van Gaal is looking to bolster his attacking lineup as  another England marksman, captain Wayne Rooney is going through a difficult time this season. Rooney so far has scored two goals in 8 Premier League appearances.

Summer signing French striker Anthony Martial has been a revelation, one of the most inspiring goalgetter for van Gaal since joining the Red Devils. But the promising youngster’s form has fallen a bit low since a magnificent start to life in English football. He failed to pork out any goal in his last three league encounters.

However, Harry Kane has previously opened up the possibility to leave Tottenham but after the end of summer transfer window, he showed his loyalty to the Spurs saying, “I am a Tottenham boy. I have grown up with the club. I know the club and I love the club. We have got a great team, a young team that is only going to get better and better. I am happy. I am happy to be playing.
