Manchester United star agree deal with Serie A giants 1

Italian news outlet Tutto Mercato has claimed that out of favour Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian is all set to join Inter Milan after agreeing to a contract with the Serie A outfit.

The right-back has been left in the cold by United manager Jose Mourinho and the report claimed that a lack of playing time prompted the defender to return to Serie A.

Darmian, who appeared in  39 matches last term, has fallen completely out of favour with Jose Mourinho and has featured just twice for the Red Devils this term- both coming in Europa League. Media reports are suggesting that  Mourinho has agreed to let the right-back leave the club as he looks to overhaul the squad.

The Portuguese tactician is preferring  Antonio Valencia at right-back and the Ecuador international has done a commendable job so far. And his impressive performance means Darmian had little or no chance of getting into the team. There are reports that suggest that Mourinho is planning to axe several defenders this season to bolster his team and Darmian is one of them. The Red Devils, who had the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League last season, are struggling this season under Mourinho to keep pace with the best teams in the league.

The Italian defender, who arrived at Old Trafford for £12.7million from Torino in 2015 when Louis van Gaal was the manager, was linked with several clubs in the last few months but nothing concrete materialised. But the report claimed that the right-back is now destined to return to his homeland. The outlet claimed that Darmian would join the San Siro outfit on a loan deal but it could be made permanent next summer. The fee has not been disclosed yet.
