Manchester United Star Ready to Sign 4-Year Contract Extension! 1

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho have not had the best start to the first year of their relationship in the Premier League.

With just 15 points from 10 games, United are now as close to the relegation zone as they are to the top of the table and are in desperate need of some results quickly.

But the squad seems to be low on confidence and will need the manager and the fans to be behind them if they are to come up with the goods in the upcoming games.

Mourinho is trying his best to keep the dressing room positive and the next move that he will take to try and improve the squad is offering one of his regular players a contract extension.

It is easy for players to get carried away when the team is not able to perform consistently but nothing gets the confidence back like your manager showing trust in you for the long term.

Chelsea v Manchester United - Premier League

In what will come as good news for the Manchester United fans, Jose Mourinho and Manchester United are close to signing a new deal with English attacker Jesse Lingard in the coming days.

A graduate of the United academy, Lingard burst into the senior side under Louis van Gaal and has shown time and again that he has what it takes to play regularly in the top flight for the Red Devils.

His returns for the national squad also saw him make a debut for the English national squad and this contract extension will do the world of good for the 23-year old.

England v Malta - FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier

Lingard currently has 18 months left on his contract with the club but Manchester United are not ready to take any risks and want to tie him down for the long term with a new contract.

According to reports, Lingard will sign a new 4-year contract that will see him earn around £60,000 per week, which is double of what he is currently earning at the club.

That is not the only contract that the Englishman will extent as the same report suggests that there are plans being made to renegotiate his existing sponsorship package with sportswear giants Adidas which will also see him earn a hefty sum.

As one of the best homegrown talents currently in the Premier League, Lingard is close to priceless for the Premier League and Manchester United will be happy to tie him up for the long-term and will hope that he can be a top-class player in years to come.
