Manchester United superstar sparks exit fears as he admits to be in a difficult and strange situation
Manchester United’s star striker Robin Van Persie has sparked exit fears by admitting the fact that he has found himself in a ‘difficult and strange’ situation and needs to consider his future very carefully.
Van Persie has just 1 year left on his current Man United contract and there have been suggestions that the Dutch striker has already held talks with Serie A giants AS Roma and Juventus. Van Persie has struggled to hold on to a regular place under Louis Van Gaal due to injuries and poor run of form.
This has prompted Van Persie to re-think about his future. Van Persie is currently with the Dutch national side and the striker was speaking ahead of an International friendly against USA. Van persie admitted that he is battling a new situation and is still trying to find a solution.
Speaking with the reporters, Van Persie said: “It’s a strange, difficult situation, a new situation, that’s a better word. I have to think in a realistic way.
“It’s my ambition to play the next years. I’m thinking about my family and my children with every decision I take.
“These are very important for me. I’m a real family guy. I think it’s fantastic to see how happy my children and wife are. That’s something I take into consideration when I’m thinking about my future.”
Such comments highlight the frustration and disappointment Van Persie has suffered through the course of last season as it was not long ago when Van Persie won the league single-handedly for Manchester United in his debut season.
Many teams around Europe would be interested in signing the Dutch hitman, it will be interesting to see if Van Gaal would let go off his trusted goal scorer and his World Cup captain.
