Manchester United To Take Final Call This Week, Lindelof Could Arrive For Medical

Manchester United will make a decision this week whether venture further for the £38m signing of Benfica star Victor Lindelof.
Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho has indicated there will not be a major signing made in this month’s transfer window.
And it has been expected that the signing of Sweden’s top defender, 22, will go through in the summer.
But United are certainly in a position to complete the deal now, having banked up to £45.7m from this month’s sales of Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay to Everton and Lyon respectively.
And while Lindelof is represented by Fali Ramadani, it is claimed that super agent Jorge Mendes is now involved in the deal.
Mendes also represents Mourinho and usually gets deals done.
United are aware that it has been widely reported that Inter Milan are also chasing Lindelof, whose arrival would threaten Chris Smalling’s future at Old Trafford. So with the transfer window closing a week on Tuesday, United must decide whether to act now to secure the services of the Sweden international.
However, the Red Devils’ interest was thought to have cooled after Jose Mourinho insisted he wouldn’t make any big name signing this month.
“I think for some positions we are comfortable in numbers even thinking and believing,” Moruinho said.
“I always think the best time is the summer market I always consider the January market as an emergency one where you can try to resolve some problems.”
Meanwhile, A Bola are reporting Inter have made their interest known in Lindelof.
The report states that Inter made contact with his agent Fali Ramadani to persuade the defender for a move to Serie A, over a move to the Premier League. The Swedish international has supposedly agreed to a move to Manchester United.
In positive news for Inter, neither the player nor the club have signed an agreement, which allows Inter to still make a possible move. The Italian giants will need to match the fee agreed by United already if they wish to sign Lindelof.
The Nerazzurri however view Roma’s Kosta Manolas as their primary transfer target.
